Florida Golf Classic Charity Event Tees Off to Support Student Scholarships

**Florida A&M University National Alumni Association Greater Orlando Chapter Presents: Florida Golf Classic at Celebration**

Orlando, Fla. – The Greater Orlando Florida A&M University (FAMU) National Alumni Association is proud to announce the Florida Golf Classic, a premier charity golf tournament supporting students and the university’s Foundation. The event will take place on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Celebration Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. at 701 Golf Park Drive, Celebration, Fla. 34747.

 

This annual event is part of the festivities surrounding the Florida Blue Florida Classic Weekend, a major celebration that brings together alumni, fans and supporters of Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University. The Florida Blue Florida Classic attracts more than 150,000 guests annually, generating more than $30 million in economic impact for Central Florida.

 

The Florida Golf Classic offers participants a day of friendly competition, networking and community impact. All proceeds will directly benefit local students pursuing higher education through The Greater Orlando Florida A&M University National Alumni Association’s scholarship fund.

 

Event Highlights

●      What: 18-hole golf tournament with awards for Best Individual Score and Best Foursome

●      Why: To raise funds for deserving students in the Greater Orlando area.

**Orlando, FL** – The Florida A&M University National Alumni Association Greater Orlando Chapter is thrilled to announce the 8th Annual Scholarship Jazz Brunch, scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Lakeshore Center in Ocoee. Community members are cordially invited to join us for a morning of celebration and support for the next generation of Rattlers.

 

This signature event, sponsored by the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association Greater Orlando Chapter, embodies our commitment to "Giving Back to Pay It Forward." By attending, guests will contribute to scholarships that empower and uplift young scholars as they pursue their academic endeavors.

FAMU NAA Spring Bus Preview

March 23, 2024

**Over 3,000 Prospective Students Explore Opportunities at FAMU's Spring Preview**

*Tallahassee, FL* - On March 23, 2024, Florida A&M University (FAMU) welcomed over 3,000 prospective students and chaperones to its Spring Preview event held at Jake Gaither Gymnasium. This event, strategically scheduled before the fall semester application deadline, provided attendees with a comprehensive insight into life at FAMU.

 

Organized by the FAMU National Alumni Association (NAA) Greater Orlando chapter, the Spring Preview saw the participation of 35 local students and 48 others, including chaperones. Despite primarily targeting high schoolers, the inclusivity of the event was highlighted by the presence of a middle school student, showcasing FAMU's commitment to fostering ambition from an early age.

 

The day was filled with engaging activities, including informative sessions featuring addresses from student leaders and administrators, providing attendees with valuable insights into academic offerings and campus culture. Additionally, a Be-Out day sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA) offered attendees the chance to connect with current students and experience the vibrant spirit of the FAMU community.

 

Highlighting the day was a visit to Top Cafe, where attendees enjoyed the opportunity to socialize and savor delicious food alongside fellow prospective students. Bernie Hendricks Jr. from Ocoee High School served as an enthusiastic tour guide, guiding attendees through campus facilities and showcasing the numerous opportunities available at FAMU.
